With your Australian Medicare Card you’re entitled to free health care whilst in Oz.
You’ll be entitled to free visits to the doctor, treatment in a public hospital and subsidised medicines. (Note: Medicare does not cover dental treatment, chiropractic services or hangovers.)
* People from Ireland, Canada, the USA, Germany and France are not able to get a Medicare Card.
Before you start work in Australia you need a Tax File Number - otherwise you’ll be taxed at 48%.
